Organization of the Second Yearly Seminar MTBF Regional

In the framework of the Regional Budget Framework Project, financed by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO) and implemented by the consortium led by Eptisa, the city of Managua has hosted the Second Regional Medium Term Budget Framework Seminar which took place from March 9th to 11th. The event is a common initiative of the project together with the Executive Secretariat of the Council of Secretariats and Ministers of Finance from Central America, Dominican Republic and Panama (COSEFIN).

Thirty Six staff members with technical profile from the areas of strategic planning, fiscal policy and budget belonging to the Ministries of COSEFIN countries have participated. This year, a new structure has been introduced since two thematic groups, Tax and Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System (PPBS) have been covered in-depth, and the common conclusions have been discussed in order to be transferred to the COSEFIN ministers.

On the other hand, relevant personalities from three different countries have participated to the event: the President of the Central Bank of Nicaragua, D. Ovidio Reyes, the Vice-Minister of Finances of Costa Rica, D. José Pacheco and the Director of Fiscal Policies of El Salvador, D. Nelson Fuentes, enabling interaction between technical and political levels.

The success of the Second Seminar MTBF Regional has confirmed the high relevance, acceptation and value of a participative and dynamic seminar as a forum of meeting and knowledge sharing for the staff members.
