Participation to the webinar organized by the KPESIC platform

Presentation of the "Study on Social and Environmental Requirements in Public Tenders in Latin America and the Caribbean"

December 19 2016

On last July 23, Eptisa had the pleasure to take part to the Knowledge Platform on Environmentally Sustainable Infrastructure Construction in Latin America and the Caribbean (KPESIC) promoted by the World Bank with the support of the Spanish Fund for Latin America and the Caribbean (SFLAC) via the implementation of a "webinar" aimed to present the "Study on Social and Environmental Requirements in Public Tenders in Latin America and the Caribbean", already outlined in a previous edition of this newsletter.

The platform has been created with the aim to support the promotion of an improved social and environmental management of infrastructure in the region, providing a source of information to support the transfer of knowledge, capacity building, innovation and learning through the building of environmentally sustainable infrastructure, trustable and accessible, to be converted in a forum bringing ideas and solutions.

In this occasion, Eptisa had the opportunity to present the study realized for the AECID to an audience specialized in infrastructure sectors, public investment and sustainable purchases coming from different countries of the region. During the session, carried on through the online platform KPESIC, a discussion took place on the need to include socio-environmental principles in tenders’ processes in the sector of public investment, underlying the great utility of the study as a source of experiences’ exchange and as an inventory of best practices.
