The accreditation enables Eptisa to carry out tasks as ISA for the subsystem infrastructure (bridges, tunnels, stations, tracks, turnouts, etc)

April 11 2013

Eptisa has been acknowledged by the Spanish General Directorate for Railways as Notified Body with ability to act as Independent Safety Assessor (ISA), according to Regulation EC 352/2009 of the European Commission.

Regulation EC 352/2009 sets up a Common Safety Method (CSM) on risk evaluation and assessment, aimed to guarantee current safety level, or in case it is necessary or whenever it is reasonably possible, to increase railway passengers safety level.

Eptisa has carried out works as ISA during the construction of Hyderabad Metro Rail System (India) in 2012 and has participated in the bidding process for ISA consultancy services for the extension of Kolkata (India) metro network in 2013.

The accreditation enables Eptisa to carry out tasks as ISA for the subsystem infrastructure (bridges, tunnels, stations, tracks, turnouts, etc). In a near future, it is expected to receive another accreditation for subsystems Energy and Command, Control and Signalling.

Despite the accreditation is valid only for Spanish and European area, many authorities and international bodies consider it valid for developing ISA activities in their local networks.
