The Central Finance and Contracting Agency of Croatia awarded Eptisa a contract in May 2016 for strengthening capacities of the Ministry of Environment and Nature Protection for Climate Change Adaptation and preparation of the draft of Climate Change Adaptation Strategy.

This nationally important project, which is funded by EU Transition Instrument program, is aimed to alleviate the consequences of climate change in Croatia including:

  • to strengthen the capacities for the assessment of vulnerability and impacts of climate change, for the assessment of adaptation measures in sectors that are exposed to the impact of climate change at national and local level, through education and the use of IT tools for the development of climate models and through raising public awareness,
  • to assist the project beneficiaries in the definition of vulnerable sectors, impact assessment and priority measures and activities necessary for the adjustment in sectors exposed to climate change which will help in later decision making on the necessary steps and investments related to climate change adaptation, and
  • to prepare draft of the Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and associated Action Plan in the Republic of Croatia for period up to year 2040, with a view to 2070.

Eptisa continues the successful implementation of this project, which has a team composed of 16 national experts with significant international experience. It is fully managed by Eptisa office in Zagreb, proving full integration of this subsidiary in the national consultancy market. The project will run to November 2017.
