Eptisa finalises the works supervision for the Extension and Rehabilitation of Craiova Sewage Network in Romania
This is the first contract finalized within the project, while the works for the remaining two contracts are still ongoing

Within the project Technical Assistance for the management and supervision of ISPA contracts in Craiova, Eptisa finalised the supervision of the works contract "Extension and Rehabilitation of Craiova Sewage Network". This technical assistance has as main objective to improve the environmental infrastructure in Craiova (reduce pollution of Danube river and Black Sea) and ensure successful implementation of ISPA Measure according with the Financing Memorandum. This project includes three works contracts with a total budget of 70,378,000 EUR.
The works for "Rehabilitation and extension of the sewage networks" were initiated in July 2005 and handed over on July 31st 2010. The works consisted in extension works of Craiova sewage system with approximately 55 km, rehabilitation of 42 km deteriorated sewage pipes, rehabilitation of 3 overflowing chambers, construction of 4 wastewaters and 1 rainwater pumping stations as well as rehabilitation of 2 wastewater pumping stations.
This is the first contract finalized within the project, while the works for the remaining two contracts: "Rehabilitation of the drinking water distribution network in Craiova" and "Rehabilitation of Craiova water treatment station" are still ongoing.
On the occasion of the end of the contract, last 24th August the Romanian water company "Oltenia" hold on a press conference at the Craiova City Hall.
This is a major environmental infrastructure project with significant impact on environment and people's health from Craiova Municipality and consolidates the position of EPTISA in the region.
