April 08 2013

The EU Delegation to Nicaragua has recently awarded Eptisa, in consortium with CATIE, with a contract in the frame of a capacity development project in the rural and security sectors. Both areas are key in the Government of Nicaragua’s 2012-16 Human Development National Plan. The POFI project aims to contribute to the improvement of the planning and financial management of these areas and the public sector as a whole.

The contract covers a 39-month period and includes the following specific objectives:

  • Support capacity development at the beneficiary institutions in policy design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Provide technical and strategic advice in several specialized issues related to policy planning and budgeting, as well as institutional strengthening
  • Support the EU Delegation and partner institutions in managing the project, organizing the procurement of goods and services, monitoring and following-up the programme and elaborating technical and financial reports
  • Facilitate project coordination with other initiatives in line with the Paris Declaration
Since 2006 Eptisa is also providing technical assistance services in the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs-financed Institutional Building Programme in support of the government of Nicaragua for the establishment of a Mid-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
