Eptisa maintains its support to the Government of Guatemala after the approval of a new initiative in support of Public Financial Management reform

In the frame of the Regional Medium-Term Expenditure Framework project, the Eptisa-led Consortium will provide Technical Assistance services to the Guatemalan Administration

The Work Plan has been drafted with the leadership of the Ministry of Finance (MINFIN) and the General Secretariat for Planning of the President’s Office (SEGEPLAN in Spanish) and its objectives are focused on three areas:

  1. Strengthening of planning and budgeting processes for a Results-Oriented Management: The project will support the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAGA) in the formulation of their multiannual institutional planning documents and in the preparation of their MTEF and budgets for the 2016-19 period.
  2. Improving the predictability of Budget revenue: Personnel of MINFIN will receive training and technical support in the preparation of the Medium-Term Fiscal Framework. This document includes revenue forecasts that are used as the reference to prepare the National Budget.
  3. Development of monitoring and evaluation of Government planning and budgeting: Advice will be given on how to improve M&E systems in order to assess the quality of public expenditure and management.

Activities are foreseen to begin in October 2014 and end in December 2015.
