On September, the Consortium led by Eptisa started the implementation of the new EU funded project "Small-scale, low-cost, environment friendly irrigation schemes: sites selection and preparation of full work tender dossier".The contract is implemented together with the companies Temelsu and PointPro, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of Macedonia.

The purpose of this project is to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the agriculture sector, to sustain farm incomes and mitigation of adverse effects of climate change in agriculture by promoting small-scale, low-cost, environment-friendly irrigation schemes. The overall objective of the project is to contribute for sustainable and inclusive economic, social and territorial development of the country and reducing regional disparities through the development of physical capital in rural areas.

The project consists of two components. The second will support the ongoing water management reforms towards involvement of users in management of irrigation schemes through capacity building activities, preparation of legislative proposals, procedures and guidelines, with an emphasis on preparation of methodology for calculation of the water tariffs.

The project, funded by and implemented under the Delegation of the European Union, has a value of €1.6 million and an expected duration of 2 years and 4 months.
