Eptisa supervises eleven works contracts for the improvement of the sewage and drinking water infrastructures in Valcea County, Romania

Eptisa is undertaking the technical assistance contract for the supervision of eleven works contracts included in the project, for the improvement of the sewage and drinking water infrastructure in Valcea County. The project will be implemented until June 2015 in seven agglomeration areas within Valcea County.

The project has as specific objectives to reduce the risks that the untreated or insufficiently treated discharged wastewaters might have on human health and eliminate the flooding risk; provide quality supervision services for the works contracts financed from the Cohesion Funds; and compliance with the EC Directive 86/278/EEC on safe sludge disposal.

Eptisa will also support the Contracting Authority to fulfil the conditions set by the Decision and Financing Agreement; verify the Contractor’s designs, ensure supervision of works execution and commissioning; and monitor the Contractor’s design and execution programme of civil, mechanical and electrical works, providing works supervision services in compliance with the Romanian legislation for constructions and with FIDIC Conditions of Contract - Yellow and Red Books.

This is the second project implemented by Eptisa with SC APAVIL S.A. Regional Operator for Valcea County. From February 2006 to December 2010, Eptisa implemented the ISPA Measure 2004/RO/16/P/PE/002 for the rehabilitation of the water supply and sewerage system and of the wastewater treatment plant in Valcea. The project was aimed to improve the water and wastewater infrastructure by reducing water losses and infiltrations and to increase the number of Beneficiaries of drinking water and sewerage services.
