A consortium led by Eptisa and with the participation of Ecorys has been awarded with a new contract in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The project, entitled "Strengthening of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Environmental Institutions and Preparation for Pre-Accession Funds", is funded by the European Union's Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) with a budget of 1,920,400 Euros. The focal beneficiary of this project is the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations (MoFTER) and the main objective of the intervention is to strengthen the technical, administrative and programming capacities of all the institutions involved in the management of the country's rich natural and environmental resources.

For the next 24 months, the team of experts from Eptisa will provide technical advice in order to enhance the capacity of the State authorities in environmental and natural resources management to perform their prescribed competencies, aiming at preparing the country for an effective implementation of the Acquis Communautaire, and promoting an improved implementation of the international agreements in the field of environment. The intervention also aims to further stimulate the investment climate in environmental infrastructure in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Eptisa has been working in BiH since 1999, having implemented 14 different assignments mainly in relation to the water and environment sectors, both at institutional and technical levels. Acknowledgement of the quality work and stabile presence in the country throughout years is this newly awarded tender.

The company has also provided institutional support services to environmental institutions and inspectorates in 10 different countries in the region. This has equipped our expert teams with a very good understanding of all the requirements to implement the very demanding EU environmental standards.
