Eptisa will carry out the detailed design and tender documents for the construction of the Rositas Hydropower Plant in Bolivia

ENDE, the National Electricity Company, has awarded Eptisa a new consultancy services contract for the development of the design and tender documents for the construction of the Rositas Hydropower Plant.

The objective of this project is to carry out the final design of the Rositas Hydropower Plant, preparing all the necessary documentation to make possible its bidding and construction, as well as to carry out the Technical-Economical and Environmental Feasibility Study of the Second Hydropower Plant in the watercourse of the Río Grande.

The project will include the studies of cartography and topography, geology and geomorphology, climatology, hydrology, etc., the perform of Specific Environmental Studies and the review and update of the Feasibility Study of the Río Grande Rositas Hydropower Project and the Pre-Feasibility Study of the Río Grande Hydropower Development, which include the assessment of 6 alternative dams for the selection of an additional Hydropower Project.

The works planned consists of a clay core rock - fill dam 156 meters high, with a crest length of 655 meters and a 13,300 hm3 capacity reservoir, located in Cordillera in the Santa Cruz Department. It will also have a spillway with 4 openings of 20 meter each regulated by gates. The total installed capacity at the hydropower plant will be 400 MW.

This project adds to the extensive experience of Eptisa in developing construction designs of Hydropower plants, as the recent Girabolhos and Gouvães projects in Portugal.
