Eptisa will carry out two new contracts within the Dismantling and Closure Project of the José Cabrera Nuclear Power Plant in Guadalajara, Spain

It began its operation in 1968 and started its closure in 2006

The José Cabrera Nuclear Power Plant is located in the municipality of Almonacid de Zorita (Guadalajara). It began its operation in 1968 and was the first Spanish nuclear power plant. After 38 years of operation and by a Ministerial Order, it finished its activity on April 30th 2006.

After the previous tasks to carry out the dismantling project for the combustible material management and the conditioning of the operation waste, since 2006 started the dismantling and closure of the plant. Among these tasks, since 2009 Eptisa develops the technical assistance for the supervision of civil works and acts as technical office. In addition of these works, Enresa has awarded to us two new contracts that are expected to last until the finalization of dismantling process:

  • Supervision of declassification of surfaces works for the Dismantling and Closure Project (DCP) of the José Cabrera Nuclear Power Plant
  • Technical service of decontamination and cleaning of surfaces and characterization and measurement for the DCP of the José Cabrera Nuclear Power Plant

Thanks to the continuity in this type of tasks as well as other projects related matter, Eptisa is one of the Spanish companies with extensive experience in works related to nuclear power and, specifically, with the dismantling and closure of nuclear power plants.
