The Basque Railway Network, ETS - Euskal Trenbide Sarea, has awarded to the Eptisa Team Joint Venture a new contract to draw up the detailed design of Altza - Galtzaraborda section of the Donostialdea Metro in the Basque Country, with a duration of 12 months.
This section will be developed in the Lasarte Oria - Donostia/San Sebastián - Hendaia line, between the future Altza station and the current Galtzaraborda station, located in the province of Gipuzkoa.
The main objective of this contract is drawing up the detailed design to convert the single-track line to double-track in the Altza-Galtzaraborda section. The main problems to overcome are the dense urbanization between Altza and Galtzaraborda, the Molinao Ria underpass, the junction under the Pasaia bypass on the N-1 and the refurbishment of the Galtzaraborda station.
