Eptisa will participate in the new Gran Canaria railway line

The Consortium Eptisa - 3G will carry out the drawing up project of El Barriel - Playa del Inglés section

The Comisión Asesora de Contratación of Ferrocarriles de Gran Canaria has awarded seven sections of the railway platform that will link the capital of Gran Canaria with the south of the island. All the Consortiums that have won the award have islander participation.

This "Services Contract for the Basic Projects and Construction Design of the railway line platform between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Maspalomas" will have a budget of 10 million Euros from State funds and 18 months of duration.

The Consortium composed by Eptisa and 3G has been awarded the sixth section of the railway line with a value of 1.550.757 Euros. This section runs on surface and tunnel and will pass through the touristy zone of San Bartolomé, between El Berriel and Playa del Inglés, nowadays known as El Cañizo.

According to the announcement of Román Rodríguez, vice-president and councillor of the Inter-Island Council of Public Works and Transport, it is expected that the civil works of the entire railway line will start around the middle of 2012 and will finalize on 2016.
