Eptisa will supervise the investment works financed by Sectoral Operational Programme Environment Savings in Cluj County in Romania

The supervision of these works contracts will improve the water and wastewater systems and reduce the network losses in the Cluj County

Eptisa will provide technical assistance services to the regional water operator Compania de Apa Somes SA during 24 months for the supervision of three works contracts implemented under Sectoral Operational Programme Environment (SOP ENV) Savings financed by the European Union.

The project involves the supervision of the investments works for the improvement and extension of the drinking water distribution and the wastewater collection in different localities of the Cluj County. The activities will be divided into the following three contracts:

  1. Rehabilitation of transmission pipes and pumping station capture in Grigorescu, Cluj-Napoca;
  2. Extension and rehabilitation of water and waste water system in Dej;
  3. Establishment of sewage network in Dezmir and partly in Sannicoara and Apahida

Within these three works contracts, Eptisa will carry out the following key activities:

  • Rehabilitation of the water pipes and extension of the drinking water distribution networks;
  • Extension of the drinking water system, increasing the percentage of population with access to quality water system, according to the EU rules and regulations, improving approximately 16.3 km of drinking water pipes;
  • Reduce the network losses, improve the safety of water supply, assure the water quality standards and the water quantities at a corresponding pressure in order to rehabilitate 6 km of water pipes;
  • In order to improve the degree of connections to the centralised water system and to improve health and environmental conditions in urban and rural areas it is proposed the extension of the sewage system with 68 km and the associated fittings.
