A consortium consisted of Eptisa, Prospect Consulting and Services, Estonian-Latvian-Lithuanian Environment, and the Latvian Fund for Nature, has been awarded with a new contract in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project, entitled “Support to the Implementation of the Birds and Habitats Directives”, is funded by the European Union’s Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) with a budget of 1,429,000 Euros.

The focal beneficiary of this assignment is the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations (MoFTER) and the main objective of the intervention is to support the national and entity-level institutions in the transposition and implementation of the European Directives on Birds and Habitats.

For the next 24 months, a multidisciplinary team of experts from Eptisa will provide technical advice aiming to enhance the capacities of the Bosnian authorities on environmental management and nature protection. The team will also give support to the development of a countrywide NATURA 2000 network and to the preparation of its corresponding implementing strategy and management plans.

In the last years, Eptisa has provided institutional support to environmental institutions and inspectorates in all the IPA countries. This has equipped the company teams with a very good understanding of all the requirements to implement the very demanding EU environmental standards.

Eptisa has been working in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1999, mainly in the fields of water, environment, and energy, where counts on a permanent local office.
