RESILIENCE STARTS AT HOME<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

On 18 October<\/strong>, Skopje City Park in the Republic of North Macedonia<\/strong> hosted the \u201cResilience Starts at Home\u201d <\/strong>event, bringing together citizens to learn how to prepare for floods and respond promptly to potential risks, while marking the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Residents, families and children took part in the \u201cResilience Trail<\/strong>\u201d, engaging in a range of interactive and educational activities designed to help them understand:<\/p>\n\n

\u2705 How to identify flood hazards and risks.\u2705 How to prepare their homes and families for potential emergencies.\u2705 What to include in an emergency kit.\u2705 What to do in an emergency and when to call 112<\/strong>.\u2705 Why flood hazard and risk maps are essential tools for better planning and protection.<\/p>\n\n

Special thanks to the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia<\/strong> for its participation and for helping spread important messages of preparedness, solidarity and community support. We also extend our appreciation to everyone who attended, including residents, families and members of the media. <\/p>\n\n

\ud83d\udc99 While floods cannot always be prevented, their impact can be reduced through preparedness and timely response.<\/p>\n\n

The project \u201cImproving the Implementation of the EU Floods Directive through the Harmonization of National Legislation and the Preparation of Flood Risk Management Plans\u201d<\/strong> is supported by the European Union<\/strong> and co-financed by the budget of the Republic of North Macedonia<\/strong>. The final beneficiary is the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, and the project is being implemented by a consortium led by Eptisa. <\/p>\n\n
