About

Ignasi has built his entire professional career at Eptisa, having joined the company in 1983. Over the past 40+ years, he has held various leadership positions. He has also represented Eptisa in different business associations, participating in decision-making bodies throughout different stages of his career, gaining deep expertise in transport infrastructure and its related challenges.

Which Eptisa project has made a special impression on you and why?

It was many years ago, but being part of the transformation that Barcelona underwent for the 1992 Olympic Games left a lasting impression. The entire city came together to deliver all the required infrastructure. Working with maximum intensity, dedication, and excitement — while also learning constantly because we were just starting out — is an unforgettable memory. And probably unmatched in its intensity.

How do you envision the future of the sector over the next 10 years?

In Spain, the sector’s biggest challenge is the lack of resources, which can only be addressed by improving the reputation and recognition of our profession. This will come from valuing our people, increasing professionalism through training, and improving the technical tools we use. Investment prospects in Spain are clear, and we must respond to a society that demands commitment to technological advancement. Internationally, I would continue to support the same path for Spanish engineering — which has earned a solid and well-deserved reputation abroad.

What is your favorite place in the world?

A seaside village where I keep a small boat — perfect for drifting aimlessly.
