This project aims to improve drinking water supply and sanitation systems in the municipalities of Osh, Jalal-Abad and Bazar-Korgon under Component 3 of the ADB-funded program. Actions include the rehabilitation and construction of critical water and sanitation infrastructure, from catchments and pipelines to treatment plants and urban collectors.
Main interventions:
- Osh City: Rehabilitation of the Plotina intake, new 7.2 km adduction, evaluation and optimization of the Ozgor water treatment plant, pumping station, and improvement of the Brick Factory reservoir.
- Jalal-Abad: Drilling of boreholes, construction of reservoirs and distribution networks (7.5 km), and sewerage collectors (4.5 km).
- Bazar-Korgon: New boreholes, 3,000 m³ reservoir and rehabilitation of key pipelines (4 km), improvements in the Enesay area.
Services provided:
- Data collection and technical investigations (topography, geotechnics, hydrogeology, etc.)
- Development of design alternatives, budgets and schedules
- Drafting of basic and executive projects
- Environmental assessments and resettlement plans in accordance with ABS standards
- Preparation of bidding documentation and support during the bidding process
- Management of construction contracts and supervision as “Engineer” in accordance with international standards
- Technical, administrative and environmental monitoring of the works.
Expected impact:
This project will significantly improve sustainable access to safe water and sanitation services in three major urban areas of Kyrgyzstan, contributing to health well-being, social equity and climate resilience in these communities.
