About
Laura Gorrachategui is the Executive Director of Infrastructure, with over 27 years of national and international experience in the civil infrastructure sector.
She joined Eptisa in 2006 as a Project Director, managing large-scale, flagship projects with multidisciplinary teams around the world (UK, Ireland, Portugal, Kenya, Ethiopia, Israel, Turkey, Bolivia, among others). In recent years, she has held several leadership positions within the transport sector, and in 2020 she assumed leadership of Eptisa’s Infrastructure business unit.
How would you define your leadership style?
Approachable and collaborative. Starting out as a Project Director gave me a clear understanding of the real challenges teams face in their day-to-day work. It allowed me to stay close to them, understand their needs, and support them with empathy. Thanks to this, I’m often recognized as just another member of the team. I promote a working environment where open communication, trust, and collaboration are key to achieving common goals.
How do you envision the future of the sector over the next 10 years?
I envision a sector that is increasingly driven by technology and deeply transformed by innovation, sustainability, and evolving social demands. The engineering of the future will not only be more digital, but also more conscious of its impact — and more focused on improving people’s lives. In fact, we’re already seeing how artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics are revolutionizing the way we design, plan, and make decisions — while clients and users demand solutions that are more sustainable, efficient, and aligned with today’s major global challenges, such as climate change, future mobility, and responsible resource management.
What inspires you outside of work?
Traveling to discover new cultures. Although, more and more, what I truly enjoy is spending quality time with my family and friends.
