Three new awards with the Water Directorate General

Eptisa has been awarded three important projects to develop the technical studies for the implementation of the Flood Risk Management Plans and development and improvement of the National Floodplain Mapping System in measures of the General Directorate of Water in:

  1. The Confederación Hidrográfica del Cantábrico (Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation)
  2. Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation
  3. The Tagus Hydrographic Confederation (this project in joint venture with Typsa).

With a duration of 36 months in each of the projects, the main purpose of the works is the development of the third cycle of the Flood Directive, and additionally the execution of other actions of general interest included in the 2nd cycle PGRIs. All these works will be developed within the scope of the three Hydrographic Confederations.

The main actions are as follows:

  • Development of the3rd Cycle of the Flood Directive
    • Phase 1: Review of Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment
    • Phase 2: Review of Flood Hazard and Risk Maps
    • Phase 3: Review and update of Flood Risk Management Plans

  • Other actions of general interest included in 2nd cycle PGRIs
    • Studies of alternatives for flood control actions
    • Cost-benefit studies for flood protection works
    • Drafting of environmental recovery and flood protection projects
    • Generation of flood zone mapping
